What is Diesel EN 590?

Diesel according to DIN EN 590 is a standardized fuel for diesel-powered vehicles and machines. It meets defined quality requirements for use in road traffic and off-road applications such as construction, agriculture and industry.

As Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD), it contains a maximum of 10 ppm sulphur and therefore enables efficient and lower-emission operation of modern engines. At the same time, it is compatible with current injection systems and exhaust gas aftertreatment.

The standard ensures that properties such as ignition readiness, cold behavior and purity are clearly defined. As a result, the performance of your machines remains predictable - regardless of the area of application.

In addition, diesel can be blended with up to 7 % biodiesel (FAME) in accordance with the standard. This admixture is controlled in accordance with DIN EN 14214 and is approved for most applications.
