1. What forms of fuel are there?
Fuels are available in solid, liquid and gaseous form.
2. What is the difference between calorific value and heating value?
The calorific value indicates the amount of heat without taking the condensation heat into account, while the calorific value takes the total energy including this into account.
3 .Where does Germany get its fuels from?
Germany sources a large proportion of its fuels from abroad, including hard coal from Poland and Australia as well as crude oil and natural gas from Russia and the North Sea.
4. How are fuels taxed?
In Germany, fuels are taxed in accordance with the Energy Tax Act, based on volume or energy unit.
5. Are biofuels taxable?
Wood-based biofuels are not subject to energy tax.
