1. What is the sulphur content of EL heating oil?
EL heating oil has a sulphur content of between 50 and 1,000 milligrams per kilogram, whereby low-sulphur heating oil may contain a maximum of 50 milligrams of sulphur per kilogram.
2. What is the difference between EL heating oil and S heating oil?
EL heating oil can be used in burners without preheating, whereas S heating oil must be preheated before transportation and combustion.
3. What does bio heating oil contain?
Bio heating oil consists of low-sulphur heating oil EL to which bio-components such as rapeseed methyl ester are added. The minimum proportion is 3% (V/V).
4. Are there standards for heating oil in Europe?
There is no uniform standard for fossil liquid fuels in Europe; the quality is determined nationally, for example in Germany by the DIN standards.
5. How is EL heating oil labeled?
EL heating oil is marked with a red dye and Solvent Yellow 124 to distinguish it from diesel fuel and prevent misuse.
