Environment, Social, Governance (ESG)

For us, responsible corporate governance means ensuring our company’s future viability and strong reputation and integrating the expectations of our stakeholders into our business activities.

Because we are aware of the potential impact of our business activities on people and the environment, we seek to integrate the principle of sustainable development in all our activities.

Our sustainability strategy

We deliver on our claim of harmonising our socio-ecological responsibility with our business interests in our six action areas.

To anchor these key strategic issues in our global activities we use various instruments and measures. To firmly establish responsibility for environmental and social issues at the highest level, the relevant principles are reflected in our Guiding Principles on HSSE and in our Code of Conduct; both documents are binding for all employees. Because sustainability for us is about ensuring our future viability, it will be integrated even more closely into our investment decisions as well as our daily workflows and processes.

In our Sustainability Report we annually provide actransparent overview of our key developments and figures in the area of sustainability.

CSR and Social Commitment

As part of our commitment to society, our people and the environment, MB Energy completes a thorough assessment of its business sustainability practices every year through EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability assessments. The EcoVadis assessment includes 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

In our latest rating, which was completed in July 2025, we earned a Bronze Medal and scored 68 points, which places MB Energy in the top 35% globally.

We have also joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative — a voluntary initiative for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.

With this, MB Energy join thousands of other companies globally, committed to taking responsible business action to create the world we all want.

The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 20,000 companies based in over 160 countries, and more than 60 Global Compact Networks.

Social engagement

In line with our values, we strive to make a contribution to the welfare of the communities in which we operate, and to create additional benefit for society. Our social engagement activities focus on environment, education, health, culture & sports, and humanitarian aid.
